Foreign Trade Policy Updates India 2026–27 — Supplementary Highlights
- Released by Directorate General of Foreign Trade under Government of India, effective from April 1, 2026, to support exporters amid global geopolitical disruptions
- Export Obligation (EO) Relief: Automatic extension granted until August 31, 2026, for Advance Authorisation and EPCG cases expiring between March 1 and May 31, 2026
- RoDTEP Scheme Extended: RoDTEP continued from April 1 to September 30, 2026, with full rate restoration effective March 23, 2026
- Boost to E-commerce Exports: Removal of ₹10 lakh cap per consignment for courier exports to encourage small exporters and cross-border e-commerce
- SEZ One-Time Relief Measure: Special Economic Zone manufacturing units allowed to sell goods in Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) at concessional customs duty from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027
- Export Permission to Maldives: Export of essential commodities (rice, wheat flour, sugar, pulses, onions, etc.) to Maldives permitted for FY 2026–27 under exemption from existing restrictions
- Interest Subvention Expansion: As per DGFT Trade Notice No. 01/2026-27 (April 21, 2026), MSE exporters in iron & steel sector (Chapter 72) made eligible for interest subvention benefits
- TRQ Application Deadline Extended: Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) application deadline extended to March 15, 2026, under FTAs such as India-UAE CEPA and India-Mauritius CECPA
- Deferred Customs Duty Scheme Introduced: New “Eligible Manufacturer Importers (EMI)” scheme allows monthly deferred payment of customs duties from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028
- Mandatory IEC Compliance: Exporters required to validate their Importer Exporter Code (IEC) on DGFT portal by June 30, 2026, to continue availing trade benefits
